Principal’s Message
Batesburg-Leesville Primary School is fortunate to have a dedicated staff to meet the needs of the children from age three through grade two in our community. It is exciting to see these young students walk through the doors of our school eager to learn. We feel privileged to give them their first school experience.
Naturally our emphasis is on safety these days. Providing a safe environment for our students is our first priority. Safety drills are held monthly to prepare children and staff members for any disaster that might happen. Locked doors are essential to keep traffic out of the building. Visitors are instructed to sign in and wear a badge revealing their destinations in the building.
The School Improvement Council and PTO are actively involved in planning for the future of Batesburg-Leesville Primary School. Business Partners are a vital part of the day to day operation of the school.
Mission Statement
The mission of Batesburg-Leesville Primary School is to prepare the young children of this district to reach their highest potential. The partnership with the home, school, and the community provides a nurturing environment that sparks a desire for the children to become lifelong learners.
School Facility
Batesburg-Leesville Primary School was opened in August of 1984 with abundant space for the population of the young children at that time. As the years have passed and the community has grown, two separate additions have provided adequate space for the changes in the curriculum including the reduction in class size. With the implementation of full day kindergarten, space again was limited. In the fall of 2001, we opened a new wing which houses three K4 classrooms and two K5 classrooms as well as a spacious PE/Multipurpose Room.
The unique style of architecture at Batesburg-Leesville Primary School has received several awards for those who designed the building. Meticulous maintenance has kept the building looking good over the years making it appear younger than it is. We are very proud of this building.
