The Human Body is a wonderful, complicated machine whose parts all work together to keep the body healthy. You are going to learn how the digestive, respiratory, nervous, skeletal, muscular, and circulatory systems all work together in your body to give it the fuel and energy you need to learn new things, play with your friends, and climb trees.
You are going to travel through the human body on six different trains: The Circulatory Train, The Respiratory Train, The Skeletal Train, The Muscular Train, The Nervous Train, and The Digestive Train. Any time you are going on a journey, you plan your departure, your activities during your trip, and your return home. You take pictures along the way and bring them back to show your family and friends. You will need to use the answer sheet provided to record the information that you find.

You may use your Science textbook, an encyclopedia, or other reference materials with information you need. Below you may click on links on the internet to find information. You must find some of your information from these internet links. After you have explored the links below you may go to DISCUS and search their databases.

A. Your teacher will divide you into six groups. Each group will be assigned one body system. You will need to click on the links above to find information about your body system. You should be able to name the major parts of your system and tell the function of your system.
B. Your group will create a PowerPoint presentation about your human body system.
C. Your group will present your PowerPoint to the class and share the facts that you have learned by doing this project.
D. Each member of your group will write a paragraph or journal entry about how all six body systems work together to make our body work.
Check over the rubric to make sure you have completed all parts of the project. After you are finished you will need to print a copy of your presentation in handout form (6 slides per page) for scoring, and a copy of your full size slides for display in the hallway. Be sure to check your spelling and punctuation before you print.
You have now learned about the transport systems of the human body work together to keep you healthy. You have seen the body systems in action and you have learned about the different parts in each system. You can use this knowledge to make good choices about the food you eat and the type of air you breathe.
